Our Process: How 3D Laser Scanning Works

Step 1: On-Site Evaluation

We offer on-site evaluations for clients in North Carolina and South Carolina. Our team of experienced technicians will visit your location, equipped with cutting-edge 3D laser scanning equipment.

Step 2: Scanning & Analysis

Our experts will conduct a comprehensive 3D laser scan of your space, capturing every acoustic nuance, from troublesome sound entry points to room resonance characteristics.

Step 3: Customized Soundproofing

Based on the data gathered from the 3D laser scan, we'll create a tailored soundproofing plan specifically designed to address your unique acoustic challenges.

Step 4: Implementation

Once you approve the soundproofing plan, our skilled team will efficiently implement the necessary solutions, ensuring your space is soundproofed to perfection.

Why Lidar?

  • Accurate measuring: Laser distance meters are more accurate than traditional measuring tools. They use laser beams to measure distance, so they provide precise measurements with minimal room for errors.
  • LiDAR sensors are able to achieve range accuracy of 0.5 to 10mm relative to the sensor and a mapping accuracy of up to 1cm horizontal (x, y) and 2cm vertical (z). This makes them particularly useful as a remote sensing tool for measuring and mapping your space. With overlapping scans the accuracy increases.
  • Lidar systems work in any lighting condition; this gives them an advantage over cameras, which need light to be able to perceive their surroundings. Lidar systems also offer a further detection range than camera sensors, making them more useful and accurate.

The Difference In Scan Quality

  • In the examples above the photo on the left was taken on a smart phone, the image on the right was produces by the Lidar. The lidar uses a laser to capture the image by measuring the reflection of that laser back to the receiver.

Modeling Your Space

  • That point cloud is then brought into our CAD software and used to provide accurate modeling of your space.

The advantage of laser scanning and the point cloud

  • Using to point cloud we are able to accurately measure any objects that may hinder material installation including lights, sprinkler, or other design elements.
  • That information is provided to our suppliers and installers so they can be avoided during install. Reducing rework and time on site.

Measurement sheets for material ordering

  • We can provide detailed drawings of the any scanned area improving material order accuracy and decreasing cost.

Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Applications

  • As-Built Capture and Modeling
  • Improve your as-built workflow with this construction software, which is compatible with your scan to BIM system
  • Construction Prefabrication
  • Build panels and modular units with greater accuracy and speed so you can take advantage of the time- and cost-saving benefits of off-site construction.
  • Construction Quality Control
  • Improve quality and reduce rework at every stage of construction with the ability to get real-time feedback and capture complete project documentation.
  • Design Layout and Projection
  • Project design model data directly onto building materials so structures can be constructed according to their original designs, and with greater speed.
  • Digital Twin Technology for Asset and Facility Management
  • Capture all the data you need for operating smart factories and simulating future scenarios such as upgrades and expansions.
  • Historic Preservation
  • Capture, manage and analyze
